What Parking at the Port Actually Costs

Driving yourself means leaving your car at the terminal for your entire cruise — and paying for every day of it.

Parking at the World Cruise Center runs about $23 per day for a standard vehicle, $40 for oversized. Long Beach is comparable. On a seven-night cruise your car sits there eight calendar days: roughly $184 before you've driven a mile.

But the cost isn't the real risk — the lot is first-come, first-served, with no reservations of any kind. When several ships sail the same morning, the main lot fills and arriving passengers are directed to satellite parking. Travelers have reported waiting more than half an hour for a shuttle with luggage in hand, and facing even longer lines on the return. Some walk back to the satellite lot with their bags rather than wait.

Plenty of people park without incident. The problem is that you don't find out which morning you're having until you're already there, with a boarding window closing.

We drop you at the terminal entrance. No lot, no shuttle, no walk, and your car stays home.

Anyone sailing a week or longer

The longer the cruise, the more the parking meter runs. On a seven-night sailing, terminal parking alone runs roughly $184.

Families and groups sailing together

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does a cruise port transfer cost?

Flat rate pricing from the San Gabriel Valley to San Pedro or Long Beach starts at $100 one way, depending on your exact pickup location. Extended San Gabriel Valley pickups start at $120. Round trip, including your disembarkation-day pickup, starts at $200, or $240 from extended San Gabriel Valley locations. Contact us for a personalized quote based on your specific address and sailing details.

Which cruise terminals do you serve?

We serve the Port of Los Angeles World Cruise Center in San Pedro and the Long Beach Cruise Terminal, covering all cruise lines sailing from either port.

How early should I arrive at the cruise terminal?

Your cruise line assigns a check-in window on your boarding documents, and we schedule your pickup around it. We build in extra time for freeway traffic, since embarkation mornings are fixed deadlines rather than flexible ones.

How much luggage can you accommodate?

It depends on the mix. Cruise luggage runs larger than what most people fly with, and what matters is the combination — how many passengers, and how many large checked bags, medium bags, and carry-ons between them. When you request your quote, tell us how many people are traveling and roughly how many bags of each size you'll have. We'll confirm the fit before you book rather than leaving it to sailing morning. If it's more than one vehicle can comfortably carry, you'll know weeks in advance with time to plan around it. This is the question a rideshare app can't answer — you find out what size vehicle you got when it pulls up.

Do you pick up on disembarkation day?

Yes. Most clients book both legs at the same time so the return is confirmed before they sail. Give us your ship and disembarkation date and we'll schedule your pickup for when you clear customs.

What happens if my ship returns late?

Ships occasionally arrive behind schedule. Let us know your ship and sailing, and we'll adjust where we can. For significant delays there is a possibility your pickup cannot be held if another reservation is scheduled behind yours — if that happens you'll hear from us as soon as we know, so you have time to make other arrangements.

Is a car service cheaper than parking at the port?

Often, yes. Terminal parking runs about $23 per day at both San Pedro and Long Beach, so a seven-night cruise costs roughly $184 in parking alone. A round-trip flat rate transfer is frequently less, and your car stays home.

Can I reserve a parking space at the cruise terminal?

No. Parking at both San Pedro and Long Beach is first-come, first-served with no advance booking. When multiple ships sail the same day the main lot can fill, and passengers are directed to satellite parking with shuttle service. Since you cannot reserve, there is no way to know before you arrive.

Can you accommodate a group traveling together?

Yes — up to seven passengers. The layout matters more than the headcount, though. With four passengers or fewer, the third row stays down and you have the full luggage area. Five or more means raising the third row, which is exactly where the luggage would otherwise go. So luggage is usually the determining factor, not seats. Tell us your passenger count and roughly how many large, medium, and carry-on bags you'll have when you request your quote, and we'll confirm what fits before you book.
